Transformer Oil Analysis
Transformers can self-destruct if neglected over time and failure to conduct regular transformer oil testing can allow problems to go undetected.
Do you know the chemical age of your transformer? Well we do! There are numerous complementary methods for diagnosing the transformer ageing process early and reliably. ZGL Testing Laboratory for Transformer Materials is completely focused on the laboratory diagnostics of oil-filled electrical equipment.
Transformer Oil Testing is a vital part of any maintenance program. An annual DGA is the most crucial test for the liquid lining. Analysis of gases in the oil can specify insulation overheating/ overloading, corona discharge, liquid overheating, or arcing in the transformer. The screen test comprises additional physical, chemical, and electrical tests; this includes power factor, interfacial tension, acidity, Flashpoint, Kinematic viscosity, specific gravity, colour, and dielectric breakdown. No single test alone can indicate the authentic stature of the liquid. Thus, it is necessary to perform all the tests. Furthermore, a useful test is performed by transformer oil labs that include those for water content, PCBs furanic compounds, and metals-in-oil.
